4 Features That Make Jogging Strollers Ideal for Exercising

When you have given birth, you may be ready to start jogging outside. When going jogging, you can either leave your toddler at a daycare or go with him/her outside. If you opt for the latter, you should have the right jogging stroller. This stroller is similar to the traditional stroller, but has been specially made to ensure the toddler will be safe when it is going over rough, uneven surfaces as you jog.

There are a number of features that differentiate jogging strollers from the traditional strollers. These include:

Long Distance Between Wheels
Jogging strollers push the front wheel away from the baby's center of gravity. As a result, the front wheel can bounce up and down freely in case the surface is uneven. The bouncing will cause minimum shocks to the baby.

Effective Suspension Systems
Jogging strollers have a number of shock absorbing systems that ensure the baby will not feel any stress as the gear goes over bumps on the road. For example, some strollers have shocks on each wheel. Moreover, they may have a sling-style seat that reduces some of the constant jarring motion that happens when you are jogging.

Large Air-filled Tires
Generally, jogging strollers have large wheels. The typical back wheels measure 16 inches or more in diameter, while the front wheels measure 12 inches or more in diameter. This diameter is nearly double that of the wheels of most traditional stroller.

The large wheels make it easier for the stroller to roll over bumps while transmitting less shock to the baby. The impact of bumps is reduced by the air-filled tires, which take out some of the shock. Moreover, the gear here can easily roll due to the larger wheels. This means you will not need to push a lot when jogging.

The wheels of traditional strollers are usually smaller and made of hard plastic. These wheels do not reduce shock in any way. Moreover, they are not good at negotiating uneven terrain.

Locking Front Wheel
The front wheels of jogging strollers are locked. This is in contrast to the wheels of traditional strollers, which have unlocked front wheels. The unlocked wheels make the stroller wobble when you are jogging. The wobbling can create strong vibrations that can uncomfortable to both the baby and you. Sometimes, the wheels can turn so sharply that you can tip over the stroller and risk hurting your baby. Simply visit website or other helpful stroller shopping details.

The above are four features that make jogging strollers different from traditional strollers.
